Now that all of the TNNA hubbub has finally died down, we can get back to blogging as normal.
Natually, as soon as I say that, the first thing I'm going to blog about is something that we found at TNNA.
This yarn is Tabali, an 80% cotton, 20% viscose blend. If Tabali looks a little familiar, that's becase it's spun to look like Patagonia and Nature Cotton, but the 20% viscose adds a subtle sheen here and there. Tabali knits up at 14 stitches over four inches, and comes in 81 yard hanks.
This yarn would look great alone, as a summer top, or you could find a complemetary color of Nature Cotton to knit with it. How great would this yarn look as a cardigan with a coordinating semi-solid Nature Cotton trim? Or the other way around!
We also saw Stephanie, our fabulous Prism sales rep, and we're getting both of Prism's new fall yarns.
The first is Merino Mia, a new sock yarn that we're getting in their classic colorways Lipstick, Alpine, Tahoe, Blue Lagoon, and Cantina. The colors really pop in this yarn, and if you ever wanted to make something with the bold and fun colorway Cantina, but didn't know what to do, knit up some socks! Feet deserve beautiful colors, too, right?
Next up is Symphony, an 80% merino wool, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon blend. When we saw Symphony, we noticed that the gauge and content were similar enough to the Yarn Daze Yucatan (photographed in the post below), that they would work really well together. With that in mind, we selected colors that would either fill in the gaps missing from the Yarn Daze palette or would complement them well.
You can expect both of these yarns to be in around October!
Finally, we have another photo from my mystery project, a panel of garter and slipped stitches overlooking a sea of seed stitch. I am so pleased with how this is turning out...I can't wait until it's finished!
And don't forget, we ARE open on July 4th and through July 4th weekend; we're having classes on the 5th (New Pathways Baby Socks; Gauge, It's Not a Scary Word!; and Needle Felting) and on the 6th (Amigurumi), and spaces are still free in all of these classes. So when your bellies are full of bar-b-que, pie, and other holiday goodies, come by the shop for some relaxing knitting.
